Using the Stampin Up Butterflies and Flowers Masks with Embossing Paste

Stamp Story - Masks - Embossing Paste

I love how this card turned out. Embossing Paste is something that I haven’t played with for a while so it was a lot of fun and very easy to get wonderful results. In my quick little video you can two different ways I was able to get a soft subtle pink hue with the embossing paste and add some glimmer for extra sparkle.

The embossing Paste is available in a Shimmer and a regular White. I didn’t have the Shimmer one so I used the regular white and added some Dazzling Diamonds to it. I think either way it gives a similar result.

The Butterflies and Flowers Layering Decorative Masks (boy is that a mouthful!) are just a new addition to the Masks collection. Usually there is 4 designs in a pack but these ones are a new smaller size just right for a card front which means you get 6 masks in this pack.

The one thing to remember is the embossing Paste dries really fast onto your mask so make sure to pop them into a dish of water as soon as you finish using it. Believe me it makes clean up a whole lot quicker!

In my upcoming Nature’s Prints Class we will explore three different ways to use these masks and make 3 great projects. I really enjoy techniques so I’m really looking forward to this one.

Let me know if you would like to book a spot! In the class you will get a pack of the new Masks and a Pack of 3 Blending Brushes to take home as well as your finished projects.

Card Details

It didn’t need much at all to finish this card as the result from the Embossing paste was gorgeous. I simply cut out a border with my new Basic Borders Dies. I don’t know why I waited to get these – it was LOVE at first use!!

Then I added some sprigs cut from the FREE Sale-a-bration Simply Marbleous Paper with the Sprig Punch. I wasn’t actually a fan when I first saw this paper (FREE until March 16 with any $90 order) but boy have I seen it used in some terrific ways so I am now a convert ❤️

Finally I pulled some of the fibres from the Frayed White Ribbon and secured with some glue dots. I used a sentiment from the Flowers of Friendship Stamp set and some of the Elegant Faceted Dots.

You can use the background masks on their own. But your images will really pop when you layer the detailed masks over the backgrounds to get even more depth and dimension.

Use with Classic Stampin’ Ink and coloring tools such as Blending Brushes and Sponge Daubers for beautiful color. You can also use them with Versarmark and Embossing Powders for another cool texture.

Here are all of the products I used to create my card. Thanks so much for visiting my blog and I hope you like my projects. If you would like to comment below I really appreciate it and reply to them all 🌼
